Six months after opening its first international office in Milan, Italy, Connecting Food will be an exhibitor at CIBUS Italia, showcasing the many food products already traced by their platform, and unveiling a new Italian client: Palatò Milano.
The European leader in food blockchain technology, expanding their footprint across Southern Europe
With Italian (Stefano Volpi) and British (Maxine Roper) co-founders, and headquarters in Paris, Connecting Food has been a truly European company from their start back in 2016. They were initially based at Sation F (the largest startup campus in the world) and their fast growth led them to soon move to private office space.
In order to support their growing Italian client base, Connecting Food opened an office at the Milan campus of Le Village by Crédit Agricole Milano in March of this year. They have also been active in the Italian food ecosystem, as part of the GOOD FOOD MAKERS program in 2020, the Deloitte Food Tech Accelerator in 2021, and through other European projects managed by the European organization EIT Food.
What’s more, several major agrifood players have already finalized deals with Connecting Food to begin tracing their products. While some are still under NDA, one of these clients is the brand-new fast-growing premium gourmet delivery service Palatò Milano, which will trace fish using the Connecting Food blockchain-enabled solution.
“Opening up an Italian office is particularly important for our company. Being closer to our local clients and ecosystem partners, especially after this lockdown, will help us to establish tighter business relationships and speed up our development. We are on our way to quickly becoming a landmark blockchain traceability provider in this market”
Alessandro CONTI, Market Lead – Italy
Exhibiting at CIBUS 2021, to further growth in the Italian market
As the reference B2B food trade show in the country, CIBUS is the perfect occasion for Connecting Food to meet up with the main industry players, in person at long last.
It has been 2 years since the company last took part in a physical Italian event (Seed & Chips 2019). Since then, a lot of progress has been made: the product has evolved and it is fully available in Italian language, some major deals have been signed, and industry awareness of blockchain is growing.
